Cystitis is a bacterial infection of the bladder, and most women will have an attack at some time in their life. It produces a burning sensation on passing urine and pain above the genital area. Urine can be cloudy and foul smelling, and cystitis can be diagnosed by a urine test by your doctor, or using a home test kit.
