Trapped Wind

Trapped wind is a common condition that can cause discomfort or pain, normally as a result of pressure in your stomach or abdomen, which makes you feel bloated and wanting to pass wind. The wind in your stomach is there because we all take some air in when we swallow, and this can come back up or go down the gut and be mixed with the gas produced from our lower gut from the bacteria living there. The medicines for trapped wind relief contain simethicone or dimethicone to break down bubbles of gas into a form that is more easily absorbed or passed through the bowels. Some of them also contain ingredients to help with indigestion, if this is needed.
