Tixylix Cough & Cold [P] (100ml)
Tixylix Cough and Cold soothes children's coughs and relieves common symptoms of a cold - runny nose and congestion. The medicine has a pleasant raspberry flavour and comes with a measuring spoon to make it easier for you to give the correct dose.

Tixylix Cough and Cold contains Pseudoephedrine, Chlorphenamine and Pholcodine
- Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant
- Chlorphenamine is an antihistamine
- Pholcodine is a cough suppressant.
How to give Tixylix Cough & Cold
- Using the measuring spoon provided, the following doses are to be given 6 hourly by mouth as required.
- Do not exceed 3 doses in 24 hours.
- 2 - 3 years One 2.5 ml spoonful
- 3 - 5 years One 5 ml spoonful
- 6 - 10 years One to two 5 ml spoonfuls
Not suitable for children under 2 years, adults or children over I 0 years
- Do not exceed the stated dose
- May cause drowsiness.
- If the condition does not get better talk to your doctor.
In case of accidental overdosage: obtain medical advice. Take along the bottle and the label, and any medicine that is left.
Each 5 ml Tixylix Cough & Cold contains: Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride 20 mg, Chlorphenamine Maleate 2 mg and Pholcodine 5 mg.
It also contains: Glycerol, sorbitol, citric acid, hydroxyethylcellulose, sodium benzoate, flavouring (including raspberry and vanilla flavours), sodium saccharin, acesulfame potassium and water.
Cautions for giving cough and cold medicines to children:
- Do not give to children under 2 years old
- Do not exceed the stated dose
- Do not give any other cough or cold medicine at the same time
- Seek the advice of a pharmacist or other healthcare professional before giving Tixylix Cough and Cold
Do not use Tixylix Cough Cold:
- If your child is sensitive to any of the ingredients.
- During an acute asthma attack
- If your child suffers from palpitations, abnormally fast heart beat or other heart conditions
- If your child is also taking medicines known as MAOIs (or has taken these in the last 2 weeks)
This medicine contains sorbitol. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist if your child:- Is taking other medicines, or is under a doctor's care. This is particularly important if your child is taking medicines for sleeping, for anxiety, tricyclic antidepressants, pain relievers known as opioid analgesics or other antihistamines or decongestants
- Suffers from epilepsy, diabetes, an overactive thyroid or liver disease.
Possible Side Effects: Drowsiness may occur. Other unwanted effects could include dry mouth, headache, fatigue, anxiety, restlessness, dizziness, palpitations, stomach upset or a rash.
Seek medical advice if your child experiences any other unwanted effects.
