Medised For Children gives cold relief for children over 6  years old

Medised Dual Action formula combines two ingredients:

Paracetamol to provide effective relief from pain including teething pain, sore throat, headache, aches and pains. It is also used to treat high temperatures, cold and flu.

Diphenhydramine, a mild antihistamine, to clear a blocked nose and ease nasal irritation associated with colds. It also helps restful sleep.

New Restrictions For Children's Cough & Cold Medicines: This product is not now recommended for children under 6 years old

DirectionsDirections for using Medised For Children:

For children from 6 years old

  • 6 years to under 12 years: Two to four 5ml spoonfuls 3 times daily
  • Under 6 years: On doctor's advice only

Other directions for Medised:

  • Allow at least 4 hours between doses or as directed by your doctor
  • No more than 4 doses should be taken in any 24 hour period
  • If symptoms persist dosage should not be continued for more than 3 days without consulting your doctor
  • The dose may be mixed with a little milk or fruit juice if preferred
  • Do not give to children under 6 years old

What if too much is taken?
Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose even if the child seems well because of the risk of delayed serious liver damage.

Contents

Each 5ml dose of Medised For Children contains the following active ingredients:

  • paracetamol 120mg
  • diphenhydramine hydrochloride 12.5mg
Also contains: marogol 4000, sodium cyclamate, glycerol, propylene glycol, sorbitol, maltitol solution, saccharin sodium, parabens (E214, E216 & E218), strawberry flavour (E300), sugar module (E210 & E1518), purified water.

Warnings

Before using Medised For Children:

Cautions for giving cough and cold medicines to children:

  • Do not give to children under 6 years old
  • Do not exceed the stated dose
  • Do not give any other cough or cold medicine at the same time
  • Seek the advice of a pharmacist or other healthcare professional before giving Medised

Do not give Medised for Children

  • with any other paracetamol-containing products
  • to children hypersensitive (allergic) to paracetamol or any of the ingredients as shown in the contents section of this product
  • to children under 6 years old.

Give with special care

  • to children with liver or kidney problems
  • to children with epilepsy
  • to children taking any other medicines, in particular cholestyramine (to reduce blood cholesterol), domperidone or metoclopramide (to treat nausea and vomiting), sedatives, warfarin or any other drugs to thin the blood

Medised For Children may cause drowsiness, if affected, do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcoholic drink.

Important information about some of the ingredients in Medised For Children:

  • this product contains 2.2mg of sodium per dose, to be taken into consideration by children on a controlled sodium diet
  • if you have been told by your doctor that your child has an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before giving this product
  • it also contains parahydroxybenzoates which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed)

After using Medised For Children
As with most medicines, Medised For Children can sometimes cause side effects such as blood disorders, skin rashes and other allergic reactions. These are usually rare. If these or any other effects are seen, stop using the product and tell your doctor or pharmacist.
