Dr David Delvin is director of the Medical Information Service, and one of Britain's best-known media doctors. He trained in medicine at King's College Hospital, London, and subsequently worked at hospitals in Sussex, Kent and West Indies. After becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, he established a successful career in writing and broad casting about medicine and surgery. He has now appeared in over 800 medical TV programmes. His work has received awards from the Medical Journalists' Association and the American Medical Writers' Association He has also been Consumer Columnist of the Year, and he was awarded the Médaille de la Ville de Paris by Jacques Chirac.
