Vaginal Thrush

Vaginal thrush is a common fungal yeast infection which most women have at some time in their lives, and can also effect their partners. It produces a soreness, redness and itching around the lips of the vagina, and a thick, white discharge from the vagina, which looks like cottage cheese and smells of yeast. It is tempting just to treat the outside lips of the vagina, but an internal product is needed to clear the infection, though a cream on the outside is very soothing. Capsule treatments can also be swallowed. Some medicines can also treat the male partner if he has symptoms, or if he is a cause of infection to others.
