Work-Life Balance

Work-Life Balance
Work-Life Balance- By Gordon and Ronni Lamont - A Sheldon Press Book
This book is for anyone who feels that their work and the rest of their life are out of balance.
- Do you have too much to do?
- Do you waste hours travelling?
- Are your relationships suffering?
- Do you have time 'just for you'?
- Is there space for the most important things in your life?
Work and the way we look at it are changing, and this book offers focused, practical advice to help you make the new world of work work for you — whether you're in full-time or part-time work, job sharing, working at home or mixing your own unique cocktail of work and life options. There's advice on managing your approach to work, and integrating aspects of your life to bring how you live closer to how you want to live.
Gordon and Ronni Lamont (writer and BBC producer, vicar, parents and more) combine advice, experience and information to help you think differently about how we work, with examples of change and fresh working patterns, plus a range of thinking exercises to help you find your own way forward.

About the authors:
Gordon and Ronni Lamont have written widely; together they produce creative resources for use in churches — books such as Drama Toolkit and Children Aloud — as well as http://www.assemblies.org.uk. the SPCK school assembly web site which Gordon edits and Ronni contributes to.
Individually, Ronni writes sermons as Vicar of St John the Evangelist, Bexley, and Gordon writes books on drama in education, such as 100 Ideas for Drama and the BBC Drama Handbook (http://www.writer.org.uk). He also writes radio drama and runs a creative consultancy on work—life balance, communications, team building and other organizational issues (http://www.lamonts.org.uk).
In their other life, they have two children, Claire and Jim. Ronni leads occasional dance workshops and Gordon works for the BBC on schools web sites (http:// www.bbc.co.uk/schools). Their interest in this area started to formalize when Gordon led the BBC's Work Life Balance project for eight months, but they had plenty of experience to build on balancing busy vicarage lives and working hard to find time to 'be' both as individuals and as a couple.
