Use: Cough Nurse Night Time Liquid is a product for the night-time relief of the symptoms of dry, tickly, unproductive coughs through the night, so aiding restful sleep.

Cough Nurse Night Time Liquid contains
Diphenhydramine it is an antihistamine and Pholcodine is a cough suppressant which relieves dry or tickly unproductive coughs, so aiding restful sleep.

Includes sucrose, alcohol and sodium - see "Check before you take this medicine" and "Talk to your doctor first if:".

Codeine Restrictions: Products containing codeine and codeine related products may not be supplied to the USA and Norway

Dosage:

• Liquid for oral use
• Adults (including the elderly) and children aged 12 years and over: Take 20 ml (equivalent to four 5 ml spoonfuls) just before going to bed.
• Do not give to children under 12 years of age

The liquid also contains purified water, sucrose, glycerol, alcohol (4.8%), sodium citrate, citric acid, sodium benzoate (E 211), hydroxyethylcellulose, colours quinoline yellow (E 104) and patent blue v (F 131), flavours (grenadine, tingle) containing propylene glycol.

Important:
Cough Nurse Night Time Liquid may cause drowsiness, but as the product is intended to be taken only at bedtime, this shouldn't be a problem. However, if you are affected, you should not drive or operate machinery.

• Do not take with alcohol.
• When taken according to the dosage recommendations each dose supplies 8.8 g sucrose. This should be taken into account if you have diabetes mellitus.
• Cough Nurse Night Time Liquid contains 4.8% alcohol, i.e. up to 0.76 g per 20 ml dose, equivalent to 19.2 ml beer, 8 ml wine per dose. Harmful for those suffering from liver disease, alcoholism, epilepsy, pregnant or breast feeding women and children.
• Each 20 ml dose contains 35 mg of sodium. This may be harmful if you are on a controlled sodium diet.

Do not take Cough Nurse Night Time Liquid if:

• you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
• you are pregnant or breast feeding.
• you are taking other cough products or sleep aids.

Talk to your doctor first if:

• you are under the care of your doctor or receiving prescribed medicines. This medicine may enhance the effects of some drugs e.g. atropine (used for diarrhoea and in eye drops), tricyclic antidepressants.
• your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars.
