Merocets are used for the symptomatic relief of sore throats and other symptoms associated with mouth and throat infections.
Merocets contain cetylpyridinium chloride which has antibacterial properties.
Directions Adults (including the elderly) and children over 6 years
- Allow a lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth
- One lozenge every 3 hours as needed
- Do not give to children under 6 years of age
- If sore throat persists for more than three days consult your doctor
ContentsEach Merocets Lozenge contains the active ingredient cetylpyridinium chloride 1.4mg
They also contain the following inactive ingredients: sucrose, glucose liquid (82% solids), peppermint oil, sunset yellow (FD & C No 6) E110, quinoline yellow (FD & C No 10) E104, ethyl alcohol and purified water.

WarningsAlthough side effects when taking Merocets are rare, the following have been reported:
Overdose: No experience of overdosage but normal procedures of gastric lavage and maintenance of respiration and circulation (using vasopressor drugs if necessary) should apply.
