Paramol Easy to Swallow (32 Tablets) [P]
Paramol Easy to Swallow Tablets are an easy swallow caplet shaped tablet used for the treatment of: headache, migraine, feverish conditions, period pains, toothache and other dental pain, backache and other muscular aches and pains.
Paramol Tablets contain Paracetamol and Dihydrocodeine Tartrate:
Paracetamol acts as an analgesic (pain killer), and antipyretic (lowers body temperature).
Dihydrocodeine Tartrate is also a powerful analgesic
Codeine Restrictions: Because of the danger of addiction we are limiting orders to one pack at a time for products containing codeine or dihydrocodeine, and not accepting further orders within a month. - If you need to use this medicine for more than three days at a time, see your doctor, pharmacist or health care professional.
- Taking codeine regularly for a long time can lead to addiction, which might cause you to feel restless and irritable when you stop the tablets.
- Taking a painkiller for headaches too often or for too long can make them worse.
How to take Paramol Tablets: Please observe the instructions in your own product, or you will not fully benefit from Paramol Tablets.
Adults and Children 12 years and over:
- Take one or two tablets every four to six hours
- Do not take more than eight tablets in any 24 hour period
The elderly: Caution should be observed when increasing the dose in the elderly
Not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age
- If symptoms persist consult your doctor
- Paramol Tablets should be taken during or after meals
- Do not exceed the stated dose
Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage
Each Paramol Tablet contains: Paracetamol 500mg Dihydrocodeine Tartrate 7.46mg as the active substances.
Paramol Tablets also contain the inactive ingredients: Magnesium stearate, povidone, maize starch, hypromellose, titanium dioxide and macrogol 400.
When not to take Paramol Tablets:
- If you are sensitive to any of the ingredients
- If you have asthma or breathing difficulties, see your doctor or pharmacist before taking Paramol Tablets
Pregnancy or Breastfeeding: Paramol Tablets are not recommended for use during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding
Children and the Elderly: Paramol Tablets should not be given to children under 12 years of age. Caution should be observed when increasing the dose for the elderly
Caution:
- Paramol Tablets should be given cautiously to patients with allergic disorders
- Do not take with other paracetamol-containing products
- Consult your doctor before taking Paramol Tablets if you suffer from kidney, thyroid or liver problems, including non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease
- If your need to use this medicine for more than three days at a time, see your doctor, pharmacist or healthcare professional.
Taking Dihydrocodeine regularly for a long time can lead to addiction, which might cause you to feel restless and irritable when you stop taking the tablets
- Taking a painkiller for headache too often or for too long can make them worse
Driving or operating machinery: Paramol Tablets may cause dizziness, if affected do not drive or operate machinery
Taking other medicines: If you are taking domperidone or metoclopramide (to treat nausea and vomiting), cholestyramine (to reduce cholesterol), or any medication to thin the blood eg. warfarin, then consult your doctor before taking this product
- Alcoholic drinks should be avoided whilst taking Paramol Tablets
Side-effects: If you notice any unwanted effects not mentioned your own leaflet or if you are unsure about the effects of this product, please inform your doctor or pharmacist. Nausea, vertigo, dizziness, headache, or constipation may occur. Very rarely, skin rash may occur. Allergic reactions and blood disorders have been reported.
If you experience any of these side effects, stop taking the tablets and consult your doctor or pharmacist
