Medicines For Fever

Temperature relief medicines are based on the three main pain killers that you can buy - paracetamol, ibuprofen and aspirin, though aspirin should only be used by adults. The addition of codeine does not help to reduce temperature as codeine is only a pain killer. It is important to use the correct dosage, neither too little to be effective, nor a dose above the recommended amount.

Medicines are regularly used to reduce high temperature and fever. Paracetamol is the most popular, then Ibuprofen, and then Aspirin. Codeine has no effect on high temperature and fever, and so pain killers containing Codeine are no stronger than those without, and are not recommended.
